Wolfenstein 3D: Spear of Destiny (played in ECWolf for review)

I guess I got what I asked for. I asked for more “Wolfenstein 3D”, and this feels like the logical next step to a game that was arguably becoming too difficult in its final episode. Some levels here do clever things with the aging engine—there’s at least one instance where you’re better off luring enemies away from crowds via exploiting quirks of how enemies are alerted—but there are just as many that feel the result of some kaizo mod made by a bored edgelord, especially near the end, especially M16. An extended headache that’s occasionally worth the hassle.
