The Avengers: Endgame

I don’t aim to be a contrarian, but I confess I take some glee in expressing my dissenting opinion towards celebrated works I don’t feel are worth celebrating. That said, “Endgame”, the last Avengers film, is the first great Avengers film, and that owes to it injecting weight and personal meaning in its action and letting its cast flex their acting chops—the first hour or so feels like an episode of “The Leftovers”, and the crew are up to the task. It’s enough to make me look past its considerable length and one disjointed sequence late in the film.
