300 (2006 film)

The film that answers the question “How boring is it to watch someone else play “Dynasty Warriors”?”. Actually, that’s unfair to DW—those battles feel grand and expansive while “300”’s feel like they occur in an elevator. Occasional inspired shots do little to make up for the obvious fakeness that is most of what is put on screen, and the over-the-top writing and acting also deal damage to one’s sense of immersion. It is certainly a cogent film that presents a complete picture of faux masculinity and bloody warfare. Some imbecilic folk might find value in this. Good for them.
