Street Fighter Alpha

“Street Fighter Alpha” is known for its agreeable excess, from offering a variety of ways to play each of its expansive cast to putting more work in making its single-player modes fulfilling than Capcom does with “Street Fighter 6”. With thirteen characters (and no variant select) over a barebones versus and arcade, there’s really nothing here to grab onto, with the combat lacking the joy of play even the first version of “Street Fighter 2” managed to achieve. It’s far from the worst of these games, but there’s a reason enthusiasts argue whether “Alpha 2” or “Alpha 3” is better.
