Opossum Country

Modern horror, to me, is about using uncomfortable elements without the promise of a happy or fulfilling ending to tell stories that wouldn’t be possible in comedy or drama. That’s probably why this half-hour game that was made to look like it could run on a Game Boy Color represents a better experience than “Resident Evil VILLage”, conveying a macabre tale without wasting my time or insulting my intelligence (though YMMV with the twist at the end). If you like jump scares, cool, give me miserable A24 haunting bullshit any day of the week. Okay, most days of the week.
