Only Murders in the Building (Season One)

One of the most pleasant surprises of 2021 as I doubt even Martin Short and Steve Martin diehards believed their next project would be the comedy television event of the year. “Murders”, like all great mysteries, revels in what the crime brings out in its cast above spinning the fanciest yarn, and the material allows Gomez to stretch her legs and fit in with a wide assortment of proven comedic voices; I’d call it her breakout role if that didn’t sound so insulting. It is a fun mystery and the most refreshing television comedy produced in America in many years.
