Ms. Marvel (Crushed)

“More of the same” is rarely better than an underhanded compliment, but as someone who has softly peaced out on most superhero media in the past few years, something this bold, engaging, and fresh feels like reason for celebration and giving the whole damn genre another chance. A substantial portion of this episode feels like a proper teenage romantic comedy, and now I want to see what happens when you replace Lloyd Dobler with Bruce Wayne. That said, some of these scenes register as corporate lip service to left-leaning politics above genuine endorsement, a grim reminder that Disney gonna Disney.
