Invincible (It’s About Time)

Let’s look past that, between the content warnings giving up the game and the inclusion of elements that would never make it into the sort of kid-friendly shows being imitated as early as the first scene, this episode isn’t able to pull off its joke of pretending to be a mediocre DCAU knockoff until the hyperviolent ending. Even if the episode did pull this off, that would still mean everything up until that concluding scene is deliberately mediocre, forty minutes of waiting for a punchline without any hint the show can meaningfully follow up on it. A horrible first impression.
