BioForge

A great example of a game aiming farther than it can reach. “Resident Evil” style tank require a lot of consideration so they can achieve the desired horror while not overly limiting the player, and “Bioforge”, which predated RE by a year, feels like a game that is emulating a style without knowing exactly how that style came into vogue in the first place. I dig the emergent backstory element of the game, and some sections hit all of the right notes, but it ends on an unresolved cliffhanger and the actual story is pretty stock. That’s 1995 for you.
