Bio Menace

The funniest part in the chapter of “Masters of Doom” where the two Johns figure out how to simulate scrolling screens reminiscent of NES-style platformers on PC is how much time they spend contemplating how a PC platformer should be designed, which is none. Perhaps some care went into the design of this and the prior Commander Keen titles, but if someone claimed a map randomizer came up with this material and bug testing revolved around making sure these levels were technically viable, I would believe them. The early PC days were filled with eye-catching but forgettable titles like this.
