Berserk Volume Three

With this story essentially paused for a bit (are the next ten volumes really all flashback? Damn), it’s easier to appreciate what happened here, especially with the glimpse into the Golden Age that promises more evil than big zombie monsters that feed on old men. Some of the exposition is awkward and the big emotional moment Guts has near the end could’ve landed better, but this is the third straight volume of two-hundred pages that flew by, and ending by promising the entrée is coming soon makes one more forgiving towards the one oversalted potato skin. Metaphors are hard, folks.
