Berserk Volume Four

“Berserk” has been good up until this point, but there was no hint it could handle something as difficult and potentially offensive as abuse and its chronic repercussions up until this point, and that it succeeds (for at least one volume) is a welcome shock in a series full of shocks. This is the sort of rewrite that makes sense out of Guts being a dick to everyone in the Black Swordsman arc, not justifying it but making you want to offer a shoulder to cry on rather than getting out of his way. “Volume Five” in my veins, please.
