Arrested Development (Season One)

The only season of “Arrested Development” that received the full season order they were promised, and it is no coincidence that this is the show’s most complete season—shocking, really, considering how many shows take a while to feel this fully formed. There are half a dozen plots going at one time, and no scene is without either a setup for a joke or a punchline, though most will only be caught by viewers who are (gasp!) actively paying attention. I’m still picking up on jokes so many years after my first watch. Not the best season, but still stellar.
