Action Andretti vs. Chris Jericho, from the December 14, 2022 episode of AEW Dynamite (also billed as “Winter is Coming”)

I keep seeing criticisms of AEW revolving around them signing discarded stars from WWE rather than building up some homegrown talent, but while I think there’s something to the argument that AEW would rather reveal ten big names than meaningfully push five of them, they are not afraid of pushing relatively unknown talent to the moon. The current tag champs were complete unknowns two years ago, Wheeler Yuta became a made man in one match with Jon Moxley, and now Action Andretti is set for a big 2023 following this exciting bout whose biggest flaw was its momentum-killing commercial break.
