30 Days of Night (2007 film)

The good guys, holed up in an attic, see a member of their number scrambling through the streets, screaming for help. The gang are about to take action when our protagonist, wise beyond his years, instructs them to stop and scan the surrounding rooftops, and sure enough, there are vampires everywhere; An astute, attentive audience can infer the woman on the street is being used as bait. It’s an effective use of understatement, completely annihilated when someone says, “THEY ARE USING HERE AS BAIT”. That’s “30 Days of Night” in a nutshell: pretty alright when it isn’t insulting your intelligence.
