Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (Pilot)

I’m torn on much of this, though I’m ultimately positive for now. There’s an early moment of emotional resonance sacrificed in service of overexplaining matters, an understandable compromise if your intended audience is stupid children but condescending and alarming in any other context—we know what happened to Uncle Ben, STFU. On the other hand, the same episode also doesn’t make too big a deal out of showing off the humanity of people besides the radioactive twerp, which could go a long way towards giving this show a unique and strong identity, at least until the Marvel Third Act happens.
