Welcome to the Rileys

Packed with great performances, a well-written script, and a well-constructed story, “Welcome to the Rileys” proves that a great film needs more than the above to ascend to greatness. This feels like a stage production awkwardly translated to the screen, and while everyone in front of the camera puts in spectacular work (seriously, folks, if you think Kristin Stewart can’t act, “Rileys” will prove you wrong), there’s little else revelatory here. It is a fine enough exploration of the grieving process that ultimately can’t decide on where to go and eventually picks the most predictable path. Fine, up until then.
