Tomohiro Ishii vs. Katsuyori Shibata, from NJPW G1 Climax 23 Night 4

The only negative against this war comes as a consequence of the constant stream of bombs they throw at each other: there's no room for build to a climax, and the concluding pinfall isn't flat but is flatter than it should have been. (This is the sort of finish that only makes sense if you're already familiar with Ishii and Shibata's finishers.) The rest is fantastic, one of the best sub-fifteen-minute matches of all time that has no fat, is full of spots both sensible and awesome, and both guys came out of this looking like folk heroes. Almost perfect.
