It’s a Wonderful Life

If you’re going to do the whole “tell his life story, then rush to the end” shtick, this is probably the best way to do it. The whole film is cliché, but it is still pretty easy to get wrapped up in the life story of a good guy who just wants to do good (Jimmie Stewart can act—controversial statement, I know), and that second half is mighty evocative even though it doesn’t clearly establish its own rules. A mighty fine crowdpleasing picker upper whose airing on TV I consider to be the real start of the holiday season.
