TimeSplitters (PS5 version)

Vertical controls are inverted by default, there’s no internal narrative, every difficulty setting feels like it better describes the one above it, the only reliable way of getting the drop on enemies is by memorizing their location, and I question if anyone born after 1999 would get anything out of this game’s arcade-y approach. For all of that, “TimeSplitters” is an infectious relic, new enough to have a respectable degree of polish and old enough to truly feel like it comes from a dead era. Unquestionably the worst of the series but I think there’s something valuable to this mess.
