The Expanse (Season One)

“The best show on the Sci-Fi Channel” doesn’t instill a lot of confidence despite the channel hosting plenty of quality content over the years (though the channel has a lot of problems cultivating their talent; what’s a “Farscape”?), but “The Expanse” manages to craft an epic and personable tale on the relative shoestring budget afforded to them. The concluding episodes don’t measure up to the drama that preceded it, but between the expanding conspiracies, allegory-soaked political discussions, and rambunctious blue-collar workers that trip their way into and through several significant intergalactic conflicts, there’s plenty to keep audiences engaged. Good stuff.
