Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters (Genesis version) (version found in the Switch port of The Cowabunga Collection played for review)

There’s a reason almost 98% of all conversations about TMNT fighting games revolve around the SNES port and the remaining 2% involve the surprisingly solid NES version, and that’s because the Genesis version sucks. I don’t hate the alien presentation and I have a soft spot for the soundtrack, but everything else about this is awful, with stiff movement, a lack of meaningful gameplay systems, one button dedicated to taunting that CAN activate revenge moves (never explained how, of course), and the AI, at default settings, plays the game to nigh-perfection. Recommended only to masochists, sadists, and TMNT fanatics.
