Target Earth (1990 video game)

One persistent charm of Genesis games, something that may have swayed some audiences away from the SNES, is how titles typically begin with the metaphorical equivalent of grabbing their audience by the leg and windmill-dunking them into the deep end of the pool. “Target Earth”, aka “Assault Suits Leynos”, aka “knockoff Robotech”, has this charm in spades as well as a good soundtrack, and everything else about it is bad. “Earth” lands in the fatal midsection of difficult and boring, discouraging repeated playthroughs by any but audiences dedicated to getting the most out of a bad purchase.
