Stranger Things (Season Four)
With practically no restrictions towards money and runtimes, “Stranger Things” goes wild in realizing sights and thrills on par with major motion pictures set to expensive-sounding songs, and there’s enough moments of cathartic emotional release for Season Four to land well on the green. At every turn, however, I wondered how much better it could have been with someone demanding rewrites or consolidating storylines or anything to cut down on its gargantuan length, to say nothing of strengthening its stronger moments and fixing its weaker elements. Stephen King, an expert on overlong horror-adjacent shows, loved this, which sounds about right.
