Wrestling is about the emotions conjured by the action presented. Purists will insist this is best accomplished through a multitude of innovation and fast-paced action, but it can also be conveyed through storylines, facial expressions, and in-match narrative. I don’t know how to separate my feelings about the story going into this match from the action of the match, and I don’t want to. There’s plenty of better tag matches over the years, but while, say, Can-Am Express vs. Kobashi and Kikuchi may be intense, few give me chills quite like this match did. Just a wonderful thing to experience.
