Scream 6

The best “Scream” film in twenty-five years, “6” combines the soap opera character development of the previous installment with a bevy of memorable action sequences to make for a film that feels shorter than most of these films despite being the longest “Scream” film to date. Some of these films have been accused of nostalgia bait, but here, it’s less “clap because you recognize the thing” and more “clap because there’s an inventive twist on something you remember”. This iteration of Ghostface is among the best but unfortunately juggles the idiot ball in the third act. Plenty good, arguably great.
