Oppenheimer

I’m not of the cult of Nolan, so hearing his his latest bloated project (even the good ones are bloated, c’mon) was to follow the guy that developed the first nuclear bombs was of little interest of me; to be honest, I’d probably have skipped this if it weren’t up for Best Picture. I was shocked, then, when its three hours flew by and the film took efforts to interrogate the bombs, the government, and the protagonist in a manner far beyond most biopics. This film lets me hate Oppenheimer without feeling contrarian, and that’s a small victory, at least.
