Muscle Outlaw’z vs. Blood Generation (Jack Evans and Matt Sydal / Evan Bourne), BXB Hulk, and Jushin Thunder Liger (referee is MO’z member Kinta Tamaoka), from Dragon Gate Crown Gate 2006 Night Six

When I think of spectacular multi-man tag matches, this is the first that comes to mind. It’s the little touches of character that put this above most DG fare, from Hulk playing babyface in peril throughout to Liger being put over as a god to Yoshino’s cocksure attitude to Sydal being the ultimate team player, which is to say nothing of the action itself. The consensus on this match seems to be “fine but forgettable”, which sells short how well-constructed and satisfying it is to watch. How I wish every Survivor Series match were even half as good as this.
