Ms. Marvel (Time and Again)

Among the outstanding side effects of building an interconnected fictional universe that demands and rewards engagement with its branches is soft serving stories the masses might have otherwise ignored (and then complained how every film is the same these days). “Ms. Marvel” the show started as a superhero version of “Pretty in Pink” to entice the audience into eventually absorbing a powerful piece of historical fiction, which might have been amusing if it didn’t hit so hard. Efficient filmmaking renders this, the shortest episode of the series, feeling the most eventful episode (besides the pilot) without feeling it’s too much.
