Invincible (This Missive, This Machination!)

The episode begins with Mark in an emotionally complicated situation, one that could have been mined for pathos. This is the second season of “Invincible”, though, so we instead cut to a joke character for the meat and potatoes of the episode. Then the credits roll, with more than half the runtime in front of us, though the episode has earned so much contempt from its audience, I’ll take its dare and will treat all this as a mostly throwaway postscript. That the episode ends with a plot point it hasn’t built up at all feels especially insulting. Actual torture.
