Invincible (Season One)
Given the extraordinary rise in quality and popularity of television as of late (quite the statement given that it was already highly respected and popular for decades leading up to this new golden age), dramas must succeed at both a macro and micro scale to earn respect. That “Invincible” struggles at both means I can’t call this up to standard, though there are bits and individual episodes that hint it could justify its superlative, distracting praise in due time. In fact, the whole middle of the season is solid; this might’ve earned a soft recommendation if the bookends weren’t awful.
