Hangman Adam Page vs. Jon Moxley / Dean Ambrose (Texas Death Match), from AEW Revolution 2023

It isn’t just that this is a brutal match that finds creative and exciting ways to show off people hurting each other (though these are fine descriptors for the bout). The real achievement here is how the structure and execution of it all works to ensure that Moxley, possibly the most popular member of the AEW roster, gets cheered and even booed in favor of Page, an unthinkable proposition going into this match. Moxley is a sadist and a monster, but Page looks stronger by taking the worst Mox can throw at him. Were that wrestling was always this satisfying.
