Edge vs. Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit vs. Eddie Guerrero (Elimination Rules), from the December 5th 2002 edition of WWE SmackDown

This one is cited a lot in discussions of “the greatest matches featuring the SmackDown Six”, but while I think it is a well-booked, great bit of business, it can’t hold a candle to what came before and after. The character work remains as effective as these guys have ever established, but for where the match goes, this may as well have been a one-on-one encounter. Also, that the late drama comes from kicking out of finishers instead of smarter work reeks of running out of ideas. Still, I can see how this could have gotten a few MOTY votes.
