Edge and Rey Mysterio vs. Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit in a Two Out of Three Falls Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship, from the November 7th 2002 edition of WWE SmackDown

Whether one preferred the encounter at “No Mercy” or this basically boils down to one’s preference of “pure” wrestling vs. storytelling—the first match had the former in spades, while this leans far harder on its story of the babyfaces fending off the vicious heels. I used to prefer the former. So did a lot of people. The conveyance here is off the charts, and it is impossible to not get caught up in the twists and turns presented. I haven’t seen a straight tag match this heated since Can-Am Express vs. Kikuchi/Kobashi. Best tag match hosted on Smackdown ever.
