Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio (Ladder Match) for custody of Mysterio’s son, Dominic, no, really, that’s not a typo, from WWE Summerslam 2005

To be clear: no, this wasn’t cool at the time, and Guerrero’s passing later in the year only makes this insane storyline look like a colossal waste of time. That said, the match itself was pretty good. Guerrero was always a great heel, and Mysterio trying to play catchup by augmenting his high-flying moveset with ladders makes for a back-and-forth that makes the time fly by. This one might have been a point higher if this had been a Lucha de Apuestas match (hair vs. mask) or over a championship or ANYTHING BESIDES CUSTODY OF A CHILD, why, oh, why?!
