Easy A

On the scale of “hip and happening classic literature adaptations to the modern times”, I’d put “Easy A” at the midpoint between “She’s All That” and “Ten Things…”. Stone and company do their best with a good script that feels as though it might have been a great script before the suits stepped in, and while the result is fun, likeable, and easy to digest, that’s as far as I can go with my praise. You can practically feel the reins being pulled on the project, from sanitizing crucial lines to a late development with oddly-skewed priorities. Still good, though.
