Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins / Tyler Black (Hell In a Cell), from WWE Hell In a Cell 2022

Should Rhodes, who had a legitimate torn pectoral muscle, have been allowed to work this match? That’s an important question to ask and for someone else to answer. This was a gutsy exhibition, but more importantly than that, it was a well-constructed and entertaining match that worked to resolve why Rollins shouldn’t have destroyed Rhodes in five minutes (arrogance!) and how Rhodes could hang with arguably the best full-time worker WWE has (experience!). I maintain that Wheeler Yuta’s attempt to do an Inigo Montoya on Jon Moxley was more organic, engrossing, and overall better, but this was captivating as well.
