Bright (2017 film)

"Bright" isn't the appetizing sort of failure of a picture like "The Room" or "Birdemic", one whose failures are charming in certain lights. "Bright", a well-shot, well-acted film that has a coherent and whole narrative structure, is a failure because it so badly fumbles its central metaphor that it ultimately tries so damn hard to say nothing of substance. This is a film where "FAIRY LIVES DON'T MATTER" is framed as a badass pose in a story that argues for empathy for the underclass. I hated every second of this dreck, and I urge you to stay away from it.
