Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker

"Batman Beyond" in a nutshell: alright with tangible potential for greatness, but its invoking what came before it represents both its high points and what's holding it back from carving its own path. The flashback sequence halfway through is the best scene here and makes me wish it was the whole movie rather than the backstory behind a mystery that, given the participants in the story, isn't much of a mystery at all. (Also, I'm not a fan of "Beyond"'s edgelord soundtrack; GTFO, Static-X.) A step below "Mask of the Phantasm", though it still lands well enough on the green.
