The main event of what was basically a test run for an AEW PPV was transparently cut for time; the first time a live mic catches someone saying “we gotta go home” (wrestling lingo for “execute the third act of our three-act play”) comes halfway into the match, and it’s heard frequently throughout. Honestly, this may have been a blessing in disguise, forcing all involved to get right to the great stuff in as organic a manner as possible and leaving the fluff to your average NJPW main event. Just a fun sprint I’d imagine even non-wrestling fans would enjoy.
