Bad Mojo Redux
An appropriately creepy endeavor hampered by some poor design choices. The use of lives does nothing but hurt the experience, the occasional inconsistent glitch can leave you unable to finish the game, and it is too easy to find yourself trying to solve puzzles out of order. I’d say that’s all worth putting up with, though, as “Bad Mojo” represents one of the most unique adventure games I’ve ever experienced. The off-kilter live action works well here, the hints given consistent of dreamlike hallucinations that say nothing and everything, and the journey is surprisingly personable. Undeniably flawed but criminally underrated.
