Baby Mama

A little film full of overqualified players. This is a comedy that could have been restructured to fit straight-faced drama for how little the premise and events in its story inherently invite comedy (successful businesswoman strikes deal with cheapskate scam artist—oh, how funny). “Baby Mama” relies on its actors to take the ball and run with its character moments, and that’s where the film’s best moments come from, with Steve Martin and Sigourney Weaver stealing enough scenes to suggest they could have been protagonists of their own films. If you’re a fan of the actors, you will enjoy this.
