Anthony Jeselnik: Thoughts and Prayers

The first half of this performance is “classic Jeselnik”, delivering jokes like an overenthusiastic mailman (“You’ll like this next one!”) that delve into the sort of dark humor that has made him a name and little else besides. It’s fine if you like your standup served on the traditional side. The best stuff comes in the latter half, where Jeselnik reveals the purpose behind his methods, and while I’m not about to call any of this transcendent or anything close, the man brings up some very good points. Far from the best standup on Netflix, but still worth checking out.
