“Annabel Lee” by Edgar Allan Poe

There's this old MAD Magazine bit that rewrites "Annabel Lee" as a stalker's ode to Pamela Lee Anderson that reads as an in-joke taken too far (the best pun is its title, "Pamela Lee", which is just the woman's name). It's a gag that at once has to imitate Poe's economy of effective words while openly mocking it, and the writer couldn't make the trek. The bit is twenty years old at this point and you'd likely never know about it had I not brought it up while "Annabel Lee", at 150+ years old, still captivates with its two pages.
