Alone In the Dark: The New Nightmare (Game Boy Color)

I can’t tell you this is the worst “Alone In the Dark” game, not when the multiplayer-only “Illumination” and the 2008 remake are up for contention. That said, I remember playing the original AItD on its release and getting utterly destroyed by otherworldly creatures but still being fascinated by its technology. I get a similar vibe from this strange demake, except I’m fascinated that anyone greenlit it. It’s tolerable for the first twenty minutes, and then the novelty wears off and it becomes work to get through. Of course this made it to Switch Online before Pokemon, because Switch Online.
