Twin Peaks (Traces to Nowhere)

Reading between the lines of what I’ve learned about the production, it seems much of this episode was constructed to follow the tonal and emotional throughlines introduced in the pilot while assuring the audience that, yes, this is a television product and you’re not going to be asked to watch a David Lynch film every week, a notion I think even sensible Lynch diehards would discourage. In practice, that translates as clarification and reiteration, making for a lesser episode in every regard save arguably in terms of humor. It’s difficult to judge this in a vacuum; I liked it, whatever.
