The Pitt (6:00 P.M.)

Much has already been written, glorified, and (arguably) unjustly deified about this, the closest thing to a truly political outing so far (right-wingers have Donald Trump, left-wingers have an unhealthy attachment to intense media—we’re so cooked). What hasn’t been so celebrated here, and I’d like to note, is that even in its most frenetic episode, “The Pitt” doesn’t trade out its sense of watchability, strongly defining loads of characters and their conflicts while ratcheting up the tension for a concoction that hits the sweet spot where so much is happening but it’s never overwhelming. They even throw in jokes!
