The Many Deaths of Laila Starr

This is probably a weird sell to many who would love it, and the big ask near the beginning, to accept that Death would be unceremoniously fired on the eve of the birth of someone prophesied to invent immortality, might be too much for some (don’t ask “what happens to the dead” after Death is fired, there are no answers). “Laila Starr”, however, builds in power as it progresses and reveals its purpose, and the emotional climax hits harder than many graphic novels twice its length. It demands to be digested in one sitting and processed for so much longer.
