The Leftovers (whole series)

Ask me to name every television show I can think of that successfully conveys the whole of a compelling, mature, unnerving, and funny story in less than thirty episodes and I’ll give you only two answers: “The Leftovers” and “Fleabag”. The first two episodes are merely good, representing the low point of the series, and it improves as it gets under the skin of its cast and figures out what makes them tick. The credits roll of the final episode brings with it a similar feeling of completion I got from “Breaking Bad”. Arguably HBO’s greatest contribution to the world.
