The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers) vs. The Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane) for the NWA United States Tag Team Championship from the May 14 1988 episode of World Wide Wrestling

If the definition of a great wrestling match is one that keeps the audience rapt for its duration, this is among the greatest matches of all time. Chattanooga is molten for this contest, and one could hardly fault them for being enraptured with the emotional journey they were taken on. The thirty-something years since this match, however, have expanded the definition of a great wrestling match to more than just a convincing athletic contest, and by modern standards, this is “merely” damn good with a hot finish. If this isn’t screened in wrestling schools, well, crap, it probably should be.
